Pasadena Walking Tours invite you to join their Saloons and Speakeasies Walking Tour. Pasadena has had a long, complicated relationship with alcohol. Long before 1920s Prohibition, Pasadena prided itself on being a "Dry" community, which obviously meant that there was rampant rule-breaking everywhere you turned! On this tour, you'll explore the ups and the downs, the "drys" and the "wets," that have characterized this colorful slice of the Crown City's history.
This 2-hour walk will meander through Old Pasadena, including the alleyways that once hosted illegal drinking establishments. You'll hear stories about the upstanding pillars of society that shunned this particular vice, as well as the rebels who embraced it.
While this tour doesn't currently include visits to drinking establishments, fear not! Guests will still be treated to insider insights on the latest current-day speakeasies and receive top-notch bar recommendations. They've got the lowdown on the best places to raise a glass in style!
