The Pasadena Doo Dah Parade celebrates 45 years of irreverent frolicking in Old Pasadena on Sunday, November 24. This year’s event is co-produced by Light Bringer Project and the Doo Dah Preservation Society. Taking to the streets will be dozens of inventive, if zany, art cars, mutant vehicles, marching, rocking, and punk bands, and a memorable cast of performance artists, showstoppers, hoofers and crooners, disruptors, political pundits, satirists, absurdists, lone wolves, float makers, and merrymakers.

WHEN: Doo Dah steps off at 11:00 AM and concludes at about 12:30 PM. Immediately following the event, the official Doo Dah after-party will be held at the Old Towne Pub on North Fair Oaks Avenue.

WHERE: The parade route starts at Raymond Avenue and Holly Street, heads south down Raymond, and turns right onto Colorado Boulevard, ending at Pasadena Avenue.

COST: As always, the event is free of charge to the public!

MORE INFO: Doo Dah is delighted to welcome back The Enchanted Forrest, Kittylicious, Space Tourists, Poets in Distress, Shag Party, King Clayton, Terri Robson’s Bellydancers, The Los Angeles Breakfast Club, The Highland Park Thursday Evening Gentlemen's Society Circuit Bending Marching Band and Ladies' Auxiliary, Pasadena Scottish Pipes and Drums, The Million Mrs. Roper March, and Mike Dunn Jazz Funeral Celebration, just to name a few. We’re thrilled to welcome newcomers the Underwater Undead, The Flat Earth Society, Purple Twig, The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles, Red Guerilla, and the Maltose Falcons. And… not a rose will be harmed in the making of this parade!

Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, the Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade began as a grassroots event in 1978 and over the past decades has gained national attention for its eccentric and, often, irreverent satire. The parade has spawned numerous off-beat replicants across the country and was even highlighted in the Wall Street Journal in 2015. It has been named “America’s Best Parade” by Reader’s Digest and was featured in the book 50 Places You Must Visit Before You Die.

Yes, another Doo Dah is here to help you forget your humdrum existence!

DOO DAH QUEEN TRYOUTS: Pasadena Doo Dah Queen wannabes will have their chance to win the crown at the Doo Dah Queen Tryouts on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Old Towne Pub. Enter via alley @ 34 E. Holly Street.

PARKINGPlenty of street parking is available on side streets. Multiple public parking lots and garages are available within Old Pasadena.
